Welcome to Student Volunteer Army. Student Volunteer Army operates an telephone and website operated online grocery delivery service with the aim to provide a cost effective, fast delivery. 

Your use of Student Volunteer Army is governed by these terms and conditions so please read them carefully.

AS YOU GET STARTED, PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT - 

The safety and wellbeing of our volunteers is of paramount importance to us; the Student Volunteer Army reserves the right to make any alterations or changes to your delivery (and the resourcing required to provide that), in the event that we feel that it is in the best interests of our volunteer's health and safety.

Your groceries may come from any New Zealand retailer who supplies grocery products but generally items are purchased from New World. 

    And, now for the legal terms & conditions: 

    1. YOUR USE OF STUDENT VOLUNTEER ARMY

    By accessing, and ordering your Groceries through Student Volunteer Army, you are deemed to have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. You are responsible for any data or telecommunications charges associated with your use of Student Volunteer Army.

    2. PLACING AN ORDER 

    2.1 Choose your items 

    Use the online tool to choose your items. If you are ordering over the phone or email, please have a list written prior to contacting the SVA. 


    2.2 Apply a voucher code 
    If you are using a pre-purchased voucher, you will need to enter the voucher code on checkout. The delivery fee is also subtracted from your voucher. 

    2.3 Substitution of brands 

    We reserve the right to substitute the brand you have requested without consultation with you except in the following circumstances.

    • If your item reqested was gluten free or otherwise a special diet item. 

    2.4 Order cut-off times

    Orders for Delivery must be placed before 3.00pm each day and we will generally deliver the following day. Orders placed after 3.00pm will go out the day after. 

    2.5 Delivery Times

    There may be a limit to the number of orders that can be delivered each available 48 hour period.  

    We will do what we reasonably can to deliver within 48hours of the order being processed. If it is not possible for us to deliver within 48 hours, we will try to contact you using the contact information you provided to us during your phone call.

    2.6 Payment

    At checkout, a 'hold' will be placed on your debit or credit card for the Purchase Amount (budget + delivery fee). You must have sufficient funds to allow this hold to be effective to place an order. 

    Orders must be paid for by credit or debit card only (Visa or Mastercard). You cannot use any other gift card or vouchers to pay for orders through Student Volunteer Army.

    Payment for your order will be processed on the date your groceries are bought and delivered. If you have insufficient funds then your order will not be processed or provided. We will contact you to let you know that your order has been cancelled.

    You agree to indemnify (i.e. compensate) us against any loss or damage that we incur arising out of any default by your credit or debit card provider to make payment to us in full and where for whatever reason the Groceries are made available to you for pick-up or otherwise delivered.

    2. 7 Credit Card Hold
    A credit card hold is placed by your bank and not by SVA and takes up to seven days to be reversed in the event of a cancellation. 

    2.8 Currency/GST

    All prices set out in these terms and conditions are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST.

    2.9 If what you order is not what you get

    Our Volunteers will do their best to pick your Groceries in accordance with your order and preferences and stock available. You cannot request a refund or change in items after delivery. Please provide feedback to help improve the service to help@sva.org.nz 

    2.10 Cancelling your order

    You will not be able to change your order once confirmed however, you can cancel your order through Student Volunteer Army within two hours of ordering. 

    2.11 Returns

    Unfortunately, due to food safety, hygiene requirements and the health and safety of volunteers, we cannot take return any items purchased through Student Volunteer Army. 

    3. DELIVERY OF YOUR GROCERIES

    3.1 Delivery to your nominated address

    We can deliver your order to any nominated address anywhere in New Zealand. 

    We will do what we reasonably can to deliver within a 48 hours’ time period. If that is not possible we will try to contact you using the contact information you provided to us.

    3.2 Service fees (Delivery)

    Service fees for our online shopping delivery service is $15. Delivery fee will be added on the final order value.

    We collect personal information from you, including information about your:

    • name
    • contact information
    • location
    • computer or network
    • interactions with us
    • payment and credit card information
    • information necessary to identify you to MSD if you are a MSD client

    We collect your personal information in order to:

    • Assist individuals impacted by COVID-19
    • Collect information from volunteers to match them with individuals who need assistance

    We share this information with:

    • Pre-approved volunteers in order to assist individuals who require assistance owing to COVID-19.
    • Secure payment gateways in order to process payments on behalf of those requiring assistance

    Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter the information required, we'll be unable to assist with either matching volunteers, or assisting those requiring assistance due to COVID-19 contact tracing. 

    We keep your information safe by using third party services with strict data privacy policies and only allowing pre-approved persons to access the data, and only the data that they require for that task .

    You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at info@sva.org.nz, or 0800 005 902.

    4. VOUCHERS 
    Agencies or individuals are able to purchase vouchers for people they support.

    4.1 Fees
    Vouchers do not incur a fee. 

    4.2 Delivery fee
    Voucher amounts are exclusive of delivery fee. Eg. It will cost $115 to purchase $100 food voucher ($100 + $15 delivery). 

    4.3 Refunds 
    Vouchers are non refundable and must be redeemed within 1 month of purchase. 

    4.4 Use of vouchers
    Each vouchers is only valid for one delivery. Eg a $250 voucher must be spent on one shopping trip. Multipul vouchers may be purchased 

    4.5 Ordering
